With an annual capacity of 5.6 million metric tonnes, MCL is the most technologically advanced and environmentally friendly cement producer in East Africa.
The products of MCL pass through round-the-clock stringent quality controls standards of both the Kenya Bureau of Standards (KEBS) and International specifications.
MCL boasts of itself by being awarded the superior Diamond Mark of quality certificate by the KEBS symbolizing excellent consistent performance on quality and compliance to standards on all their products.

Mombasa Cement Ltd. (MCL) was founded in the year 2007 to cater to the building construction segment as one of the top quality cement manufacturers in the East African Community and beyond.
The firm installed the mother plant at Vipingo, Kilifi County for clinkerization with a 1.0 million metric tonnes capacity per annum and a cement grinding plant with an annual capacity of 2 million metric tonnes outside Nairobi at Athi River, Machakos County.
In 2019, Mombasa Cement Ltd. (MCL) expanded the clinker capacity to 2.6 million metric tonnes and added a cement grinding plant at Vipingo
Further plans to expand Mombasa Cement’s annual capacity are currently on-going.
The company producing under the “NYUMBA” brand is committed to the manufacture and marketing of quality cement and working towards building a long-term relationship by ensuring total customer satisfaction.
Technological Advances
The firm upgraded the mother plant at Vipingo, Kilifi County for clinkerization with a 2.6 million metric tonnes capacity.

MCL is 9001:2015 certified & compliant (Quality Management System) and 14001:2015 certified & compliant (Environmental Management System).
