MCL was founded in the year 2007 to cater to the building construction segment as one of the top quality cement manufacturers in the East African Community and beyond.
The firm installed the mother plant at Vipingo, Kilifi County for clinkerization with a 1.0 million metric tonnes capacity per annum and the cement grinding plant outside Nairobi at Athi River, Machakos County. In 2019, MCL expanded the clinker capacity to 2.6 million metric tonnes and added a cement grinding plant at Vipingo.
